Situated in Siem Reap, the cultural capital of Cambodia, Amansara lies just 10 minutes from the entrance to Angkor Wat. Once the guest villa of King Norodom Sihanouk, today this walled garden estate serves as a tranquil 24-suite retreat with the ambience of a gracious home. Just a 15-minute drive from Siem Reap airport, Amansara provides an ideal base for exploring the Unesco-protected temples of Angkor, and discovering Khmer culture. Amansara combines the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ with apsara , the ‘heavenly nymphs’ of ancient Hindu texts. Built with 12 suites in 1962 by French architect Laurent Mondet, today Amansara presents 24 suites, 12 with private swimming pools. Similar in design, each suite enjoys an open-plan layout and a private courtyard. Across a manicured lawn from the suites and adjacent to the main 17-metre swimming pool is the circular Dining Room with its soaring ceiling and shaded terrace. Serving a menu of Khmer and Western cuisines, it includes a walk-in wine and cheese cellar and a casual lounging area. The Roof Terrace offers a seasonal venue for early or late evening drinks and private dinners. Taking advantage of the resort’s tranquil setting is the Aman Spa, which overlooks an ancient rain tree. There are four treatment rooms, each with an attached relaxation area overlooking a reflection pond set against a 43-metre sandstone relief. Other resort facilities include a 25-metre lap pool, a library and a gallery displaying local crafts and artwork available for purchase. A variety of temple tours and customised excursions are available as part of the Amansara guest experience. Complimentary house outings focusing on the temples surrounding Angkor Wat are conducted in the early mornings and late afternoons, utilising Amansara’s own fleet of remorks (moped-powered trishaws), each with its own Amansara driver and guide

Set in Ise Shima National Park, Amanemu (‘peaceful joy’) is perched on the rolling shores of Ago Bay, known as the Bay of Pearls – an expanse of blue, dotted with islets and home to drifting oyster rafts. Lying south of Tokyo, two hours by train from Nagoya or 25 minutes by private helicopter, the resort borders ancient pilgrimage routes winding through nearby forests, with Japan’s most sacred Shinto shrines within easy reach. Amanemu embraces a classic Japanese aesthetic, giving the resort the feel of an exclusive sanctuary at one with nature. The ancient Japanese tradition of onsen (mineral hot springs) is ever-present, and the Aman Spa is an integral part of Amanemu. Offering an enriching guest experience centred on wellness and tradition, it features two exclusive onsen pavilions drawing nutrient-rich water from nearby hot springs, four treatment rooms and a Watsu pool. A gym, yoga pavilion and Pilates studio round out the facilities. The benefits of onsen can also be enjoyed in each of Amanemu’s 24 suites, and in its four two-bedroom villas. Each features a private plunge-bath supplied with water drawn from the same natural hot springs as the Aman Spa. Identical in layout and design, Amanemu’s 99-square-metre suites present combined bedroom and living areas and expansive decks. Suites are divided into three different categories depending on their outlooks: Mori Suites are surrounded by indigenous vegetation with tranquil green views; Sora Suites are situated closer to the coast with peaceful green views towards Ago Bay; closest to the shore, Nagi Suites offer the best views of Ago Bay. The four two-bedroom villas, two with private gardens, offer similar views with additional living areas. Situated in a region renowned for its gourmet heritage, from seafood to Matsusaka beef, Amanemu presents two restaurants celebrating this local abundance. Other facilities include a private marina club

Ulusaba is Sir Richard Branson’s private game reserve in South Africa. The name Ulusaba means ‘place of little fear’, so named because the koppie, or hill, on which Rock Lodge sits provided the ancient Shangaan tribal warriors with the perfect lookout point. Ulusaba has 20 rooms and suites spread over two lodges: Rock Lodge, including the beautiful Cliff Lodge, and Safari Lodge. Ulusaba sits entirely within the Sabi Sand Reserve near Kruger National Park, surrounded by 13,500 hectares (about 33,000 acres) of open bush.  Rock Lodge is perched on the top of a koppie with panoramic views over the bush below. There are 8 rooms at Rock Lodge, including our Master Suite, Makwela Suites, Rock Cliff rooms and the two bedroom Rock Suite, some of which have private plunge pools. Just a short walk from the main house is Cliff Lodge, a private two bedroom suite. Nearly 500 metres away is Safari Lodge which has 10 rooms, including our Safari Rooms, Elephant Rooms, River Rooms the private Treehouse Suite, and the Safari Suite. Built along the banks of a dry riverbed, Safari Lodge guests cross swing bridges between the exquisite tree house style rooms. For the ultimate experience, guests can share their time between both lodges. Anyone who’s been on safari before knows that no two game drives are ever the same! There are two daily game drives at Ulusaba, one leaving early in the morning and one leaving late afternoon, each lasting around three hours. Times will vary depending on the season, but you should always keep your eyes peeled for the Big 5! You’ll traverse over 13,500 hectares of private reserve with your dedicated Ranger and Tracker who will tailor your game drive just for you! At Ulusaba dining is a very important part of your stay, and our chefs work hard from morning until night to provide the freshest and tastiest meals possible. All meals and drinks are included in your rates, and with at least six opportunities per day to eat, we promise you won’t go hungry!
